However, I am making a batch this week, so I'll pay close attention and report back to you. I'm glad that yours still tasted great despite your issues though! :)
JosieJosiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17949760149182965333noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5727460573195222782.post-63043888903962458522013-12-15T15:48:15.426-08:002013-12-15T15:48:15.426-08:00I made this 2 years ago, and again today (using a ...I made this 2 years ago, and again today (using a candy thermometer both times). The end result was delicious, but I really struggled with the recipe. First - in the cooling stage when you say to transfer it into a 9x13" pan and let cool to 110 degrees. Do you usually grease the pan? I did not the first time (glass pyrex baking dish) and I had the WORST time scraping the mixture out of the pan. This time around, I greased the pan with butter first and it made it much easier to get out of the pan, but it was still a very stiff mixture. Is that how it is supposed to be?

Also, after beating the mixture for 3-5 minutes, it is very much like a thick cookie dough consistency. Definitely nothing that I would be able to "pour" into a pan or easily smooth with a spatula. I had to pat it into the pan both times because it was like a dough. Again, is this the expected texture?

Like I said, it turned out delicious anyway, but I am still very curious as to whether or not mine is coming together correctly.Kristinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5727460573195222782.post-6819717179212063282013-11-06T09:40:15.894-08:002013-11-06T09:40:15.894-08:00Yum!
